In 2012, LASELEC began its participation in a collaborative project through the Interministerial Funds framework known as the FUI (Fonds Unique Interministériel), partnering with Amplitude Systems, Cristal Laser, Alphanov, Innoptics, and IMS.
The project, known as Vesuve, enjoys the support of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) throughout the three years of its duration. It was selected because of its innovative character and for the economic activity that it will generate.
The objective of this project is to develop a laser of industrial quality and reliability with a high repetition rate, for industrial marking applications. The innovative character of the Vesuve project is in its breakthrough technology, both in the laser’s architecture and in the use of a never-before-seen beam opening the door to new functionalities. These innovations will allow the development of a new line of laser wire marking machines with greater rapidity and flexibility as well as unbeatable reliability. They also pave the way forward by developing new standards for industrial marking and by advancing the state of the technology on the market, both now and in the future.
This project was certified by the Competitiveness clusters of Aerospace Valley, Route de Lasers, and Materalia.
